A Thought

August 7, 2010

We will have an atelier this upcoming year, and I am eagerly anticipating the process of collaborating with an atelierista and watching children interact and create in the space.  I’m not sure how the schedule’s going to work, but I hope we can develop something that allows us to have deep collaborative experiences and deepen the school community.  It often seems like classes are isolated from one another, and I think an art studio could potentially become a place that creates a more cohesive community.

    Hello Dear Lauren,
How wonderful to have an atelier. It is a place where children will make sense of their classroom experience and connect pieces of information to create the whole picture that has more value and more meaning. A place where chldren express feelings and thoughts together. It is the place where they become creators of beauty who are speaking hundred languages.

Yay, what a wonderful expansion of your program.
I’m sure it will be an ever-changing illuminating experience. It always is, even when it’s not new! It’s hard too.
