Relatable Toys

April 23, 2010

I continually find that children love objects that are most like the things they encounter on a daily basis.  For example, the set of real mugs, plates, and cutlery never seem to lose their allure – I’m consistently offered endless cups of “coffee” throughout the year (spoiler: it tastes like air.)

I’m not big on overfilling our classroom with toys, but a modern dollhouse would be a welcome addition to other sets that help develop fine motor control, like Legos.  This one is eerily realistic.
